  let me start by saying that i have posted here before about my wacko sister -in-law.

  this time it is bad.

  we recieved a phone call from my husbands father on friday night asking about how we were and what we were up to ,no biggie just odd since its only maybe the second time in over a year that he has called.

  30 years ago a college education was "frown on"(to close to the end)...............Yet at bethel they were given the best jobs.

  Every job at bethel is a "privilege of service" ......yet were I worked at, the laundry.......brothers were sent there (as punishment) if they turned in their notice to leave before their time was up...they got what was called "the shaft".....The Elders said "There is NO shaft at bethel"

  Drinking (booze) among "Gods" people......More then ever now?

  looking back its amazing how many alcoholics i knew in the "borg"...................... there are 3 elders in my old hall alone........ that are full blown alcoholics...................... when, have you ever heard of someone.......anyone.......let alone and elder............ getting "dfed" for drinking too much?.

  when i was at bethel........you wouldn't believe how much drinking was done there!.

  there are stories of the old days ( russell & the judge)..where they would find guys passed out in front of the 124 building on sunday mornings........no big deal, just dust them off.............. and bring in.

  Frist time I ever got drunk was at bethel..............drank a whole of cold duck........throw up all over my room!

  i have had relationships in the world and they have never worked out.

  but i will be searching for true love with a woman that also loves jehovah.

  i don't understant it - who do they think they're foolin'?.

  i have just been listening to the judicual committee that disfellowshipped rick and laverne townsend and it is cringeworthy, to say the least, to listen to them cover-up, distort and outright lie about the sources of their information and the real background to their dissent.

  There no way after all the true stories............he will encounter here.....that he will have the same line of thinking after awile.

  just wondering if anyone else feels the same way.. i've been out of the organization for about 4 years, but i still love jehovah and jesus, and i want to serve them the right way.

  does anyone here feel a great sense of religious confusion now that you are not attending meetings?.

  at the moment, i feel miserable, since i'm going through a divorce.

  My 2 children were shunned becaused I left. They did nothing wrong!

  Their love is fake!

  If you want to be depressed.............be depressed for a FAILED RELIGION...........not a failed marriage!

  A "stumbling" question for a JW

  i posted my first topic a few months ago, asking people for advice because my boyfriend is a jw, and will not understand why i will not convert.. we are currently not together, but friends.

  he still insists on me staring another bible study.

  i have asked him questions about 1914, and the 144,000, but he keeps avoiding them.. anyways, he continues to say only his faith has "the truth".. so finally, i asked him, "if you have the truth, why does the organization continue to update their beliefs (for example, the new revelation book coming out has something like over 50 'updated' things in it), yet claim each time, their new beliefs are definite, and the truth/light?".

  When I was at bethel........You wouldn't believe how much drinking was done there!

I knew many guys who were found drunk (even pass out), when I was there......The most anyone got, was a slap on the hand.............."Lets be careful brother"

  The JWs my be a bunch of "Tight a....s".............. But they will cut you LOTS of slack.......when comes to drinking.

  One Sunday, driving a "brother" ( been at brooklyn Bethel about 40 years) back from giving a talk at my hall, we were driving down the F.D.R. drive...........he pointed over to the Shafer brewery.......and said ..................."HAY.......they ever shut down that factory...........they would have too shut down that factory too"..................pointing to Bethel!

  Most of us drank way to much there.......One of are favorites was a place called "Steak & Brew".........there for the cost a burger you could get ALL the beer or wine you wanted..........we would get hammered..........of course at $14 a month....... it wasn't very often.

  Our main deal was Budwiezer for .69 cents a Quart...............Hard Booze when you could get it..

  The old timers did alot...................Knorr's favorite was J& B scotch. He would buy it by the case.

  At Gilead graduation lunch...............Everyone would go to their rooms before lunch and have a few...........It was the only time you would see "the family" and Knorr with a smile on our faces.

  If they took BOOZE away....................... the whole organization would come apart.........

  short story:.

  never had a real religious formation until i met the witness in my teenage years.. not everything has been bad but most of my friends there and exwife have been cheaters, liars and hypocrites.... i called it quits this year as i could no longer swallow their truth.

  i remarried a supposedly "christian" 23 yr old woman that has shown me how bad things are 'out here'.... regarding her i have a question... those of you that continue to uphold bible's principles and love for our dear creator please advise on the following situation:.

  There are just as many "nut jobs" and "bad marriages" in the org. has out......................

  You did marry this girl ..............after meeting her just 24 hours before .........................

  If you had married any witness girl after just meeting them after 24 hours.................Your marriage would still have a 99% chance of failure!!!!!!
